Installation & Mounting
Installation of Bronze Sculptures & Fountains
You’ve made a great investment and likely want to make sure it lasts a lifetime. In this article, we’ll try to explain the different type of methods and procedures available for installing and mounting your bronze piece(s).
Securing your Bronze Sculpture
Whether to secure and mount your bronze depends on where it will be displayed. For outdoor (and especially public facing) displays, we do highly recommend you secure the piece. As metals have increased in price in recent years, outdoor art installations have sometimes been the targets of theft.
You may also want to consider securing your statue if the piece is top-heavy, on uneven ground, or simply just for your peace of mind. There are several different ways to secure your statue, which can be done through bracket mounting and cement mounting.
Bronze Statue Bracket Mounting (securing to a foundation)
If you have an available foundation where you want to mount your statue, we can weld metal “tabs” to the statue. These tabs can be used by your professional installer to secure the statue.
With this method, the tabs will be visible. To improve durability and to hide the tabs, some opt to place the foundation (which is usually cement) 2-4″ inches below ground level and cover the area around the installation with soil (where grass can regrow) to provide an integrated look.
Bronze Statue Cement Mounting
Mounting with fresh cement is another option that many find aesthetically pleasing, but requires some work to setup. With this method, we will install a rod under/inside the bronze statue. A professional installer can place the rod into the wet cement, which completely hides the mounting point from public view.
Water Pump for Bronze Fountain
All of our bronze foutains are factory-tested before they are shipped to you or your customers. Water pumps are not included in the cost of the fountain. You may purchase a water pump for your fountain at any local hardware store such as Home Depot or Lowes.
The strength of the water pump needed depends on the size of the fountain and preference on how far the water needs to shoot out. Note that the farther the fountain shoots water, the larger the collecting basin will need to be. Also keep the height of the fountain in mind when deciding on a water pump.
We highly recommend enlisting the assistance of a professional fountain installer to ensure the ideal result and that the fountain is not damaged during installation.
