Installation of Bronze Sculptures & Fountains

You've made a huge investment and we know you want to make sure that it last a lifetime. The installation and placement of your brand new art piece has been a question that's been asked over and over again. In this article we'll try to explain as best as we can on the different type of methods and procedures available in installing and mounting your bronze pieces.

Securing your Bronze Sculpture

First and foremost, we would like to directly point out that not all bronze pieces require securing. If a thief ever considered your piece as a target most large bronze statues will usually require a group of people and a box truck and the turnaround time for them to sell the piece is very low, usually making it not worth their time.

However, there are some cases where securing your statue and fountain become important. You may want to consider securing your statue if the piece is top-heavy, on uneven ground, in a high-crime rate area, or simply just for your peace of mind. There are several different ways to secure your statue and the most common and supported by us is through: bracket mounting and cement mounting.

Bronze Statue Bracket Mounting (screwing into the foundation)

As with all setups, a foundation is needed. The most common foundation used in this type of project is cement. With a bracket mounting setup, we weld "tabs" to your statue. The tabs will be visible on each side of the statue or however many locations you decide to place it on. Your installation professional can then screw this with a commerical driller directly into the foundation to secure it.

With this method of course, the tabs will be visible on the surface. To make it more durable for your project and hide it, a lot of our clients would place the cement foundation at least 2-4" inches below ground level and then cover the area around the installation with soil to allow grass to regrow the statue to give it a more natural look.

Bronze Statue Cement Mounting

Cement mounting in our opinion is probably the most asthethically pleasing, but is also a little more difficult to get setup. With this method, we will install a rod under/inside the bronze statue to hide it from view. A installation professional can place the statue over wet cement to secure it and allow the rod to dry into the cement.

Bronze Fountain Water Pump

All of our bronze foutains are factory-tested before they are shipped to you or your customers. Water pumps are not included in the cost of the fountain. You may purchase a water pump for your fountain at any local hardware store such as Home-Depot or Lowes.

The pressure of the water pump you purchase is dependent on how much force you'd like the water to flow through your fountain. A general rule of thumb: the stronger the pump you get, the larger the fountain basin has to be to collect the water. Please also keep the height of the fountain in mind when purchasing your water pump.
